{holla!!} from the 4-3-5

This little guy was our BFF in the pool today.
We played underwater name that tune, narrated tragic tales, raced, had underwater breakdance contests, played a game where we said a word then went under the water and acted out/posed that word, and took pictures.

It's amazing how different the world is with goggles on.

After our race, Brea lost a contact, so we also searched the pool for a contact (which yes, we realize is clear, and no, we never found it).

Can't wait to get the film developed...

Yesterday, we drove home for Kellen's championship game.
The car ride included shennanigans such as this:
video
Kellen's team didn't win, but he rocked it.

He's turning into a man-boy! The doctor said he's supposed to be 6'1", 201 lbs.
He's already taller than half the fam and weighs more than all of the siblings.

Hopefully, today's plans will include an underwater camera and the swimming pool!

{holla!!} from the 8-0-1

{I just realized I never posted photos from my little visitor last weekend - Risa!!
Don't worry, they will be coming soon}

Just hitting up the old stomping grounds
for the final roommate wedding (besides my sister).
I saw these windows at the Draper Temple and knew they had to be utilized.
{Sorry the quality is not so hot - good thing the photographer got some too}
We had a lot of fun celebrating our Ratty's special day,
and it was great to have everyone together again!

We realized that this was the last time
we'd all be together for potentially a long time
(since Julie is moving off to DC in August),
and it made me all sentimental inside.

I'm really going to miss these girls.
They were a constant part of my crazy life for over three years.
I couldn't have asked for more supportive, fun, loving, thoughtful, inspirational friends/roomies.
Thank you guys for your examples
and for being there through all the laughs, smiles, tears, pranks, meals, parties, etc.,
on late nights, early mornings, midday, and midnight.

I have been so blessed to have friends like you.

{world's largest patio chair}

I bet you didn't know that
Dallas is home to the World's Largest Patio Chair Align Center(or at least it claims to be).
So we took a little trip to Sunnyland Furniture to have a little visit.

The chair was actually REALLY comfy.
And I really want one.

We look like little midgets! Or dolls...

{disneyland}

I was perusing one of Brad's high school friend's blogs and came across their family trip to Disneyland (they're seriously awesome... and make me like the thought of having kids... except now that I said that I don't want to anymore)... And it reminded me of something Brad said.

We were in Florida the night before our
papermoon cruise when the following conversation took place...

me: I would love to go to Disney World [since we were in Florida]. Or, we haven't even been to Disneyland together. We should go. Oh wait, we'll go when we have kids so it could be fun for you.
(sometimes I get ahead of myself while talking)
brad: I think I would enjoy it
less with children.

Yet for some reason, Brad's all gung-ho about having kids....

{and we'll still let you play our summer sharing sunglasses game}

{Read Me}

Dear friends,

Last week I made some online purchases and today was Christmas! We got our insect repellent from Avon (which everyone Brad runs into tells him it's the best) - and it was half off last week. I got my new phone which comes with this weird/sweet docking pod for charging it as if it's an iPod (hopefully my apartment will no longer be the twilight zone). And I got my gifts to self from Shade Clothing (who was having a 25% off all sale merchandise until... yesterday. sorry!).

Here's a review of my Shade Clothing order.

I ordered the Prisonbreak Dress (names fabricated by me)
for 13.49 (now 17.99) in two sizes to try it out...

Results are in:

Small: My hips were not too wide to fit into this pillowcase skirt.
Medium: My baby boobs were too small to fill out the upper half. A little longer/can drag on the floor a tiny bit.

Yes, I realize I look like a jailbird in an oversized pillowcase/nightgown. HOWEVER, there are pockets, I can throw it on without needing a slip/cami/shirt/any additional clothing, it's comfy, and, let's be honest, how often do I really leave the house/living room?

Verdict: Keep the small, send the medium off to someone else (with a more endowed upper body). Possilby hem the bottom an inch.

Recommendations?? For $13.50, it's TOTALLY a deal, but I don't know about $17.99. I think it works for people who: are tall and/or like to wear dresses and/or want a go-to, comfy, sweatsuit alternative and/or are planning a trip to Israel (which, I wouldn't have even given this dress a shot if I hadn't seen how a friend looked cute in the dress... in Israel).

I also bought The Awesome Skirt
for $20 (now 26.99) in a medium... oh. my. lanta.

  • The fabric has some spandex/elastane/something stretchy in it which makes it SUPER COMFY even though it looks like a woven.
  • It fits more like a straight skirt = room to walk/move (unlike pencil skirts).
  • There's a little extra space in the waistband so you can EASILY tuck shirts into it.
  • There are pockets.
  • It's cute.
  • No slit to worry about flashing the world.
  • I know I'm a medium in Shade sizing for bottoms/skirts, and this one leaves with room to breathe - classy fit (not tight like I'm a bombshell... even though we know I am).

Verdict: Best decision I ever made. My only regret? Not buying two and/or not buying the white one.

Recommendations?? HECKS YES!!!

That's all for now.

Love,
.......Me

got my stunna shades on....

Alright friends - remember the GENIUS post about the Flat-Stanley-style/chain letter ish/sunglass sharing? Well, let's pick what pair we're gonna be sharing this summer!!

I headed on over to the local mall to try on some options:

the picnic blanket (red with white checks)

the Barbie (bug-eyed black and white stripes)
When I first envisioned this idea, the sunglasses were yellow, so:
the Abstract Yellow

the Houndstooth Yellow

OR a basic yellow wayfarer
(no image - oops sorry!)

stripage (a wayfarer with stripes)

Then I looked online for some worthy additions...
the Elton John

Cyclops (in red or neon green)
And only because I saw House wearing a pair in an episode:
the Stunner Shade
(but it would have actual sunglasses and probably be white)

Vote for your favorite pair in the comments!!

I reserve the right to make changes to and/or choose any pair due to availability, cost, and/or personal discretion.
